Roberto Calenda, who is the agent of Victor Osimhen, has said that his client’s best is yet to come as the Napoli star striker still has a whole lot in his locker room.

Calenda said this on Thursday via a post he made on X (formerly Twitter) following Osimhen’s nomination for the year 2023 Ballon d’Or awards.

“Yesssss. Good job @victorosimhen9 and the best is yet to come! #strongerthaneverything #teamRC @ballondor @FranceFootball_,” Calenda posted.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria’s prolific striker has made the 30-man shortlist for the 2023 Ballon d’Or awards, which was released on Wednesday.

Osimhen in the process has equalled a 24-year-old record held by Nwankwo Kanu after he became the first Nigerian to be nominated for the prestigious prize since 1999.

He scored 26 goals and made four assists in 32 Serie A matches, propelling Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33-years and netted 31 times in 39 games in all competitions in the 2022/23 season.

The 24-year-old broke the scoring records of former AC Milan striker, George Weah and ex-Inter Milan forwards, Obafemi Martins and Samuel Eto’o in the Serie A, thereby becoming the first African to emerge top-scorer in a season in 125-years.

He also bagged seven goals and two assists in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers of which the Super Eagles are already through to the next edition in Ivory Coast.
