Randy Waldrum will not be in charge of the Super Falcons when they take on Ethiopia in the second round, the first leg of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers, on Wednesday.
It is gathered that Waldrum had already told the NFF that he would only be available due to personal commitments in the United States.
His Nigerian assistants, Justin Madugu, Ann Chiejine, and Auwal Makwalla, will manage the team in his absence for the first leg.
However, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers women’s head coach will take charge of the team
for the second leg on October 31 in Nigeria.
Waldrum took the Super Falcons to the round of 16 stage at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The nine-time African champions lost to England in a penalty shootout after 120 minutes of football ended goalless.
The qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympics in Africa will consist of four rounds of home and away matches between July 2023 and April 2024 to determine the two teams that will be at the games.
The last time the Super Falcons featured at the Olympics was in Beijing in 2008.
