Ashley Plumptre, who has not played for the senior women’s national team, Super Falcons, for over a year, is among 28 players selected to begin preparations for Nigeria’s Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games qualifier against Comoros next month.
Plumptre, who missed the 2026 African Women’s Cup of Nations, was sidelined by injury early this year, but she has since returned to action.
Also on the list released by Super Falcons Interim Coach, Augustine Eguavoen, yesterday, are Skipper Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Oluwatosin Demehin, midfielders Christy Ucheibe and Jennifer Echegini, and forwards Rasheedat Ajibade and Gift Monday.
There are also youngsters Christiana Uzoma, Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Favour Nkwocha, Shakirat Moshood, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, and Janet Akekoromowei.
Also listed are defender Shukurat Oladipo, midfielder Toni Payne, and forwards Asisat Oshoala, Joy Omewa and Uchenna Kanu.
The players have been instructed to report at the AM2PM Hotel, Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, October 3.
Comoros will host the first leg of the second-round fixture on October 9, while Nigeria will host the return leg on Tuesday, October 13. Both matches will be played at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, as Comoros does not have a CAF-approved venue for international games.
Victory on aggregate will send the Falcons to a third-round fixture in the five-fixture stretch qualifying campaign that will end in December next year.
