Return of Gombe United to NPFL excites Governor Inuwa
Gombe United is back on the National Premier Football League, (NPFL) table.
The Savannah scorpions were relegated to second division in 2018/2019 season.
Consequently, Governor Muhammad Inuwa yesterday expressed joy over what he described as motivational achievement.
Reacting to the victory of the Savannah scorpions in the super-eight play-off matches, Inuwa hailed the team’s management led by Dr. Lanre Daniel and the players for “putting up superlative performance,” saying: “We are proud of the boys and their management team for making us proud and giving the entire sports loving people of Gombe something to cheer and cherish”.
According to him: “The players had demonstrated resilience, capability, discipline and tactical know- how during their matches.”
He urged them to maintain the spirit in the Premier League and continue to do the state proud.
He assured the players and the management of his government’s continued investment in sports development in the state.
