The President of the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF), Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, yesterday, appealed for calm following the closure of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja, by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The prestigious IBB International Golf and Country Club, a major recreational and tourist attraction in Abuja, was sealed off on Saturday due to an internal leadership dispute.

The Guardian gathered that the closure was linked to a power struggle, allegedly fueled by influential figures attempting to disrupt a scheduled extraordinary general meeting on the same day.

Reacting to the issue in a statement, Runsewe appealed to the public to be calm, adding that it was a family issue that would be resolved soon.Runsewe reassured the public that the matter would be resolved soon, emphasising that the dispute remained a family issue within the club. He assured members that the presence of DSS operatives signaled that the situation was being managed effectively.
