The second day of the Sam Ocheo/Innjo Mobile Invitational Handball Championship was a mixed bag as some teams recorded victories to brighten their hopes of progressing in the championship while others drew.

In one of the matches played yesterday in the men’s category, Idah Pillars and the Civil Defenders settled for a draw. The keenly contested match ended in a draw with both teams scoring 28 goals apiece.

The women’s game between Lagos Seasiders and Flowers of Benin Republic finished 27-21 with the Seasiders carrying the day, while the Edo Dynamos suffered a defeat in the hands of Defence Babes. They were beaten 25-23.

Earlier, in the opening day of the championship, Idah Lions had defeated Delta Force 29-27, while Lagos Seasiders beat Rima of Sokoto 30-20, and ASPAC of Benin Republic walloped Eko United 32-21 in the men’s category.

Also in the opening day, Imo Grasshoppers dismissed Delta Force 33-23, while Edo Dynamos lost out to Flowers of Benin 21-22, as ASPAC put aside Lagos Seasiders 29-23 in the women’s category.

Meanwhile, one of the sponsors of the event, Innjoo Mobile Technology has appealed to fans to turn out.

Innjoo’s Country Manager, Rakesh Rocque, who made this appeal, remarked that the attendance of the fans would encourage the athletes in the ongoing championship, taking place at the Rowe Park, Yaba.
