The Super Eagles Supporters Club has commended the Super Eagles for winning their first two matches in their qualification campaign for the 2021 African Nations Cup.

The Super Eagles Supporters Club has commended the Super Eagles for winning their first two matches in their qualification campaign for the 2021 African Nations Cup.

The National President of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba stated that the Super Eagles have demonstrated their preparedness to surmount all obstacles in ensuring that their qualification is a smooth seal without the usual last minute panic.

“It gives us joy at the Super Eagles Supporters Club to see the team get the maximum six points from the two matches played so far, and we are sure that the winning will continue against Sierra Leone in the next game at home.”

Okumagba acknowledged that determination, talents and ability of the current Super Eagles’ squad to deliver the needed result, which compliments the support of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) who has provided all the necessary logistical, moral and financial inputs.

“We have to give it to the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF for the quality of preparation the Super Eagles had toward the AFCON qualifiers,” he stated. “Such preparation included the two grades ‘A’ friendlies against Brazil and Ukraine with both matches ending in respectable draws with Super Eagles giving good account of themselves.”

Okumagba also appreciated the NFF for recognising the contributions of the Super Eagles Supporters Club by providing flight space for the supporters on the same flight with the Super Eagles Players to Lesotho. “It was an honour for our members to fly together with our football starts, and to put icing on the cake, the team celebrated my birthday on flight to Lesotho as well as going ahead to win the game 4-2.”

He expressed his confidence that the current leadership of the NFF, together with the players, are prepared more than ever before to bring honours and glory to Nigerian, just as he called on all Nigerians to support the team.

It would be recalled that the Super Eagles Super Eagles Supporters club was in Maseru, Lesotho to cheer the Eagles to victory during the AFCON qualifiers, which ended 4-2 in favour of Nigeria.
