While announcing the team’s departure, president of MAN, Andy Elewere said the journey in setting up MAN and preparing for the continental tournament was one of speed, professionalism and complete dedication.
Elewere said MAN’s national team, known as ‘Jaguars’, was given wild card entry into the tournament even before the registration process by African Minifootball Federation was concluded.
“I can proudly tell you that we have successfully completed our registration with CAC and just four days ago, Nigeria was officially accepted and affiliated by the World Minifootball Federation at its Extraordinary General Assembly of April 27, 2018.
So I can authoritatively inform you that we are now one of the 144 countries that are duly accredited and affiliated to the WMF, whose membership cuts across the six continents of the world,” Elewere declared at the send-forth of Jaguar players and officials.
From the nine accredited countries, including Nigeria, to participate in the Libya continental championship, four would qualify to feature in the World Cup in Australia, next year.
