Tojemarine Academy continued their winning streak at the Ardova Handball Premier League in Benin, Edo State, with a decisive 27-22 victory over former champions, Kano Pillars, on Thursday. This win keeps Tojemarine firmly in the lead and brings them closer to clinching their first title as they prepare for the second phase of the league in Lagos later this year.

Tojemarine demonstrated superior play against Pillars, capitalizing on scoring opportunities while effectively curbing Pillars’ offensive efforts. Their consistent performance has been a highlight of the season, and they remain a formidable contender for the championship.

In another gripping match, De:Defenders and Correction Boys ended in a 26-26 draw. The game was evenly matched, with both teams unable to outscore the other, resulting in a fair draw that satisfies both sides.

Reigning champions Niger United solidified their second-place position on the leaderboard with a commanding 36-21 victory over Adamawa Warriors. Meanwhile, Benue Buffaloes were defeated by Rima Strikers, who secured a 35-21 win.

In the women’s category, Defender Babes overpowered Delta Queens with a 34-22 victory, showcasing their dominance in the league.

The first phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League concludes on Friday, with the final eight games scheduled at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium.
