Grasshoppers, Seasider Babes shine at Prudent Energy Handball tourney

Imo Grasshoppers, Defender Babes, Seasider Babes and Safety Babes all secured victories in yesterday’s fixtures at the ongoing Prudent Energy Handball Premier League at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

In the women’s category, Grasshoppers returned to winning ways by beating Plateau Peacocks 23 to 17, Defender Babes pounded Benue Queens 40 to 19, Adorable Angels lost to Seasider Babes 34 to 37, while Safety Babes overpowered Bendel Dynamos 32 to 22.

Rima Queens recorded the only walk over of the day when they got all the points in the game against absent Kada Queens.

Meanwhile, defending champions, Kano Pillars, continued their impressive runs by beating Tojemarine Academy 29 to 25 to maintain their leadership spot, while Benue Buffaloes’ effort to move up on the table suffered a setback, as they lost narrowly to D:Defenders 24 to 26 in the men’s class.

Day 10 of the competition begins today with Defenders Babes taking on Edo Dynamos, Seasider Babes duel with Benue Queens, Rima Queens will clash with Safety Babes, Plateau Peacock against Kada Queens, while Imo Grasshoppers will face Adorable Angels in the women’s category.

In the men’s event, Safety Shooters will meet Kano Pillars, Niger United will battle Police Machine, D Defenders will confront Kada Stars, Owena Kings have a date with Benue Buffaloes, Rima Strikers are up against Confluence Stars, while Lagos Seasiders will clash with Tojemarine Academy.
