Yobe, Doma qualify for NNL Super Eight play-off as Adamawa United go down

Adamawa United, which a couple of years ago were in the elite Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL), has been relegated to the third tier cadre of the local league.

On a weekend when Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu and Doma FC of Gombe qualified for the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 play-off, Kada Stars defeated Adamawa United 2-1 to condemn the Yola boys tom the lowest cadre of the Nigerian league.

To book their place in the Super Eight play-off, Yobe Stars managed a 1-0 home win against Basira in a keenly contested battle. The home win saw Yobe top the Conference D table with 20 points, while Doma, which was on standby this week finished second with 19 points.

Despite fighting doggedly till the end, Kebbi narrowly missed the Super 8 narrowly. They secured a 2-1 away victory over Sporting Supreme, but the result failed to catapult them to the Super 8 as they ended the season with 18 points.

New comers Kada Stars of Kaduna escaped relegation with a 2-1 home victory over Adamawa United in what was a winner takes all encounter.
