Zik Hall, U.I. students battle for Rotimi Alli Inter-Hall Cup
Student-footballers in the Zik Hall of the University of Ibadan took to the field at the weekend to fight for honours in the final of the Rotimi Alli Inter-Floor Soccer Competition, which rewards for the winners include money and other items.
The grassroots tournament, according to the Chairman of the Ibadan Football Association (IFA), Rotimi Alli, who has been the sole sponsor of the annual event for the past five years, was his personal initiative to give back to his alma mater.
“It is a five-a-side football league that cruises through a whole semester and helps to occupy the boys positively.
“Of course, it is impacting on grassroots football development positively within the academic environment and Ibadan at large,” Alli noted.
The students praised the legal practitioner for giving them the opportunity to showcase their soccer talent as winners and runners-up received cash incentives at the end of the tournament’s final played at the sports center of the university.
