Aboyeji, others urge Christians to be steadfast, hopeful
The General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Sam Aboyeji and the District Overseer of the church in Ibadan, Rev. Solomon Wada, have admonished Nigerians, especially Christians to remain strong, immovable and hopeful in spite of what is happening in the country.
The clerics, who stated this during the 2023 Ibadan 1 District Convocation of the church at Oke-Bola, Ibadan, Oyo State, said things will later turn for the better in the country.
Aboyeji, whose message was delivered by Rev. Kayode Ojediran, said the name of Jesus is a powerful instrument for Christians.
The General Overseer said: “Your theme for this year’s convocation, ‘In My Name,’ taken from John 14:13-14; Mark 16:17-18 gives a clear indication of the great things that the Almighty God is set to do in your lives, families, ministries and businesses, as you serve Him diligently and faithfully.”
Urging Christians to be strong and steadfast in their service to God, Aboyeji said: “I, therefore, charge you with words of Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15: 58 thus; so, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
The District Overseer, Wada, appealed to government at all levels to reduce the suffering in the country by churning out favourable policies.
Wada said: “If there was hope in Samaria, there is still hope in Nigeria. Only one day, everything turned around for Samaria. Who says that this cannot happen in Nigeria? If Samaria could receive redemption, Nigeria is no exception. There is nothing God cannot do in this nation. He can make things better so that hunger will be eliminated.
“The naira will improve and the situation in the country will be better. God will intervene in Nigeria’s case and everything will become better.”
The wife of the General Overseer, Rev. Olabisi Aboyeji, in her sermon, charged Christians and Nigerians to always endeavour to make use of the name of Jesus, as it is the only solution to all problems and aspirations.
