The Dean, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev. Ali Buba Lamido has called on members of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University community, Awka, Anambra State to seek God and help create a better society.

Buba disclosed this while dedicating the Chapel of Redemption of the University, as part of activities marking the 60th birthday ceremony of the Archbishop of Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka, His Grace, Most Rev. (Dr.) Alexander Ibezim.

Primate of the church, His Grace, Most Rev. (Dr.) Henry Ndukuba who performed the dedication ceremony of the church explained that the edifice is one of the biggest Anglican chapels in Nigeria. Ndukuba was assisted by the Archbishop of Province of the Niger/Bishop of Awka, His Grace Most Rev Dr Alexander Ibezim to officiate the event. 

In attendance were Bishops, Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof Charles O. Esimone, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu and Chairperson of ASUU (NAU chapter), Dr. Stephen Ufoaroh. Others included Chief Justice of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, Justice Pete Obiorah, Council of Knights (Diocese of Awka), the clergy and their wives, among others.

Prof. Ikem Uzochukwu is the Chairman of the Dedication Committee of the Chapel of Redemption.
