Anointed University honours Prophetess Odetola at founder’s anniversary/ convocation
The Anointed University (ANUCITY) at its 25th founder’s anniversary/ convocation held at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) campus, Akoka, Lagos, honoured the Shepherd-in-Charge of Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C Dynamic Christian Centre, Shiloh Arena), Abule Egbe, Lagos, Prophetess Ololola Odetola.
Other dignitaries also honoured included Apostle Wole Oladiyun, Prophet Oluwatosin Odeyemi, Hajia Neemat Daud Absulrahim and his Royal Highness, Peter W. Olukanmi.
Born over 60 years ago in Ghana into a Muslim family, Prophetess Odetola, who said she had a very rough background, recalled: “My background was very rough, but I thank God for His grace. I was born in Ghana over 60 years ago. Our parents brought us to Nigeria in 1967 to a town where women were not allowed to go to school. We spent almost two years there before our parents brought us to Lagos. I started my primary school all over again at Eleja Primary School, Itire, Mushin, Lagos. I had my secondary school at Holy Saviour College, Isolo, Lagos. I trained myself at Olabisi Onabanjo University, where I earned a certificate in Human Relations. I also attended the Redeemed Bible College. I thank God for where I am today.”
Advising women on what they should do to protect their husbands, Prophetess Odetola said: “As a woman if you have understanding, generous and a good counselor to your husband you will protect him from strange women and build a happy home for your family. That does not mean I have not had my own fair share of misunderstandings with my husband since we got married in 1982.
“There was a time I had a very hot quarrel with him. I packed my luggage and returned to my mother’s house. When my mother saw me, I explained to her what happened between my husband and I, and told her I have returned to her house to spend two months. She thundered, never! She advised me to return to my husband’s house and prayerfully resolve our differences. I returned home to my husband in shame and never dared again to return to my mother’s house over any misunderstanding with my husband. My husband too is an ordained pastor in C.A.C (Shiloh Arena).”
