The Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) on Friday, January 21, matriculated over 2000 students at its Ikorodu campus for the 2015/2016 academic session.
Speaking at the event, the Rector, Prof. Abioye Lawal advised the new students to shun cultism and other unworthy behaviours that could ruin their lives and the reputation of the school.
He said, “ to excel in your studies, you must always attend lectures, study your books after school hours, do your assignments at the right time, obey the school rules and regulations, and do not be carried away by social activities.”
He called on the students to always remember their homes and be a good ambassador of the school, the state and the country.
In chart with Campusnews, Damilare Adepoju, an ND 1 student of Mechanical Engineering, said he is thrilled to be among those that matriculated this year. According to him, wanting to be a student of the school has been a dream come true. He disclosed that he had done JAMB Exam several times, but could not get into the school because of his inability to pass the exams, but now that he did he is happy and grateful to God.
Adepoju also called on fellow students to be of good behaviour during their stay, stressing that he has determined to excel in his studies, be a good student and a good image of the country.
