Turn wastes to wealth, expert tells MAPOLY students
Speaking at a seminar tagged, “Say No To Littering,” organised by the Junior Chambers International (JCI), MAPOLY chapter, Kuti said all the departments in the school have been given waste bins in order to eradicate littering on campus.
She said: “The moment you gather enough pure water nylon, bottles, cans and others, we link you with companies that will buy them and you are paid for it. “Nylon and bottles are not degradable, assuming they are, we can let go. When these wastes get into the environment, they block drainages and cause flooding and diseases. Bacteria that cause infections breed in them and they are eyesore in the environment,” she said.
