Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to the public to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, space to recover from her health challenges, urging her fans, friends and social media users to stop spreading false reports about her.
Nwoko made the appeal in a post on his Instagram page, saying the actress needed love, support and an opportunity to recover rather than public criticism and speculation about her personal life.
He said his appeal was also for the sake of their children, who, according to him, were well cared for and deserved to see their mother supported.
The senator’s appeal follows a video Regina shared on her 25th birthday on October 10, in which she appeared in a wheelchair and spoke about health challenges that had affected her mobility for several months.
In the video, the actress explained that what started as a minor health problem gradually worsened, leaving her in severe pain. She said there were times she could walk normally and other times she struggled to move.
Regina also disclosed that she had undergone several medical tests and had experienced some improvement in her condition.
She spoke about the emotional difficulty of dealing with the health challenges and her desire to get better.
Reacting to the video, Nwoko said he was familiar with what the actress had experienced, urging people not to judge or add to her difficulties.
“As someone who knows what she has been through, I can tell you that this is not a time to judge, vilify or add to her burdens,” he wrote.
He also expressed concern about fabricated death announcements and misleading reports about Regina’s health and personal circumstances, describing them as harmful rather than harmless attempts to generate social media engagement.
According to him, the actress sees many of the publications, which he said have caused her distress and added to the difficulties she is already facing.
Nwoko urged her fans to discourage the circulation of such reports instead of sharing or amplifying them.
He further warned bloggers and social media users against deliberately publishing false information about the actress, particularly claims concerning her death and health.
The senator said his team was documenting the publications and that those responsible would be held accountable through appropriate legal channels.
Nwoko’s appeal comes amid the prolonged crisis in his marriage to Regina, which has played out publicly through disagreements and statements from both sides.
