A historic moment is set to unfold in Houston, Texas, U.S. as Sir Charles Omiyale and his wife, Lady Shaneka Omiyale, prepare to be invested as Knights of Saint Christopher (KSC) under the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) America Mission (CONNAM).

The solemn ceremony, scheduled to take place at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Houston, will draw dignitaries, including the clergy and members of the Anglican faithful from across North America and beyond, marking a significant milestone for the Anglican Communion in the diaspora.

The investiture will be officiated by the Coordinating Bishop of CONNAM, Rt. Revd. Dr. Augustine Unuigbe, who will lead the sacred rites admitting the couple into the revered Order of Saint Christopher. The Order is regarded within the Anglican Communion as a symbol of commitment to faith, discipline, service and Christian witness.

Ahead of the ceremony, the Bishop of CONNAM Region 2, Rt. Revd. Celestine Irona, has praised the Omiyales for what he described as their unwavering dedication to the growth of the church and the propagation of the Christian faith.

According to him, the honour is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated not only strong moral character but also a consistent commitment to advancing the gospel. He noted that the investiture reflects a careful consideration of the couple’s contributions within the Anglican community in North America.

Omiyale, an IT professional, businessman and philanthropist, is particularly recognised for his impact both within the diaspora and in his home community of Igbajo in Osun State, Nigeria.

Over the years, he has been involved in various initiatives aimed at supporting community development and uplifting lives, efforts that have earned him admiration among peers and church leaders alike.

His wife, Shaneka, is also being honoured alongside him for her role in supporting these initiatives and her commitment to church activities, further underscoring the joint recognition of their service.

The event is also seen as part of the efforts by CONNAM to strengthen the Anglican presence in North America while maintaining strong ties with Nigeria, where the Church of Nigeria remains one of the largest Anglican bodies globally.

At the end of the investiture ceremony, a grand reception of guests will be held at the Glitz N Glam Event Centre in Houston. The reception is anticipated to feature a blend of cultural and social engagements, reflecting both Nigerian heritage and the international setting of the event.
