Nigerians have been urged not to relent in their prayer to overcome the security challenges in the country, which have degenerated to an abysmal level.

The shepherd in charge, Celestial Church of Christ, Genesis Global, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe made the call at a special church service in Isheri, Lagos.

He attributed the high level of insecurity to lack of direction, saying many Nigerians are too religious, hence their inability to put their mind in the right direction.

The cleric identified love, peace, unity and harmony as the core values that are missing, and why desperate individuals are taking advantage of the situation to cause mayhem.

Reminding those behind the country’s security challenges to remember that they will one day die and leave behind all the money they make through causing chaos, Ogundipe said desperate elements should remember that posterity would judge them. He noted that they should be concerned about their legacy and that Nigerians should eschew self-centredness and be their brothers’ keepers.

He said if Nigerians seek God’s Face, things would change for the better.

While encouraging youths to prove wrong the notion that they are lazy by being productive, he said they should stop waiting for what the country will do for them.

He said: “Everybody has one talent or the other. But because we fail to recognise these gifts, many people are being tormented.”
