Fellowship at the highest level

Text: 1 John 1:1-10
Key Verse: 1 John 1:3, “That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” (NKJV)

Fellowship at the highest level is a fellowship with God the Creator, the Almighty God, the Omnipotent God, the Omniscient God and the Omnipresent God. It is a fellowship with the Sustainer and Preserver of mankind; a fellowship in holiness, uprightness and righteousness; a fellowship in love, mercy and grace; a fellowship that brings real joy and peace and a fellowship with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

“Fellowship” means sharing in common, or sharing together. There are groupings and classifications of fellowship. When you look into the world today, there are types of fellowship. There are what you may call the fellowship of drunkards, the fellowship of drug addicts, the fellowship of people who have sold themselves away in all types of immoral existence, the fellowship of witches and wizards, the fellowship of armed robbers and the fellowship of cultists.

Today, so many people have sold themselves to secret societies, lodges and all types of evil groupings. They think they find satisfaction in such evil fellowships. They don’t understand that any grouping of people will only last for a little time, and all these groupings of people will enter into eternity, either into an eternity with Christ or an eternity with the Satan. It all depends on what choices people have made all the days God have allowed them the privilege to live on earth.

Apostle John in 1 John Chapter 1 was sharing with us something that is very unique and that is fellowship at the highest level. Apostle John was sharing that which was from the beginning, which he and his fellow-apostles heard directly from the lips of their Master, Jesus on very many occasions, both in public discourse and in private conversation. Apostle John and his fellow-disciples saw Jesus in human form and His mighty works, “the life was manifested, and we have seen”. They have with reverent interest beheld the Master, “which we have looked upon”. The hands of John and the other apostles have frequently touched the body of Jesus, “and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life” (1 John 1:2).

When Jesus came, the apostles had this singular opportunity of fixing their eyes on the Son of God and watching Him every day as He lived with them during the years of His ministry and had beautiful exchanges with Him. They enjoyed intimate fellowship with Jesus and they received all the blessings of that fellowship into their lives. Their lives were transformed and they were pulled out of spiritual ignorance. All the chains of the devil were broken and they became God’s people in truth and in reality.

Apostle John said they declare to you all the spiritual blessings that they who actually saw Jesus have received, so that you can partake of it. I declare to you today the name of Jesus. I pray you have a desire to surrender completely to Jesus and get into fellowship with Jesus and everyone who has fellowship with Jesus.

Why remain in fellowships that are evil, satanic, devilish and destructive? These are lesser levels of fellowship. I invite you to come over to Jesus side and enter into fellowship at the highest level.
