The Knights of St. Mulumba, Nigeria, Lagos Metro, Region 4, last Saturday, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Mafoluku, Lagos, held its Prolife Walk and Talk, with the theme: “Protect The Unborn, Human Life Is Sacred.”

They took their campaign to different streets in Mafoluku, distributing leaflets to members of the public, including students, urging all to shun abortion and choose life.

Father Jude Mary Owoh speaking on, “Protect the unborn, Human Life Is Sacred,” highlighted the dangers of abortion and called on the youthto value their lives and desist from engendering their future.

Citing the British Journal of Psychiatric, Owoh said that the journal found that women who had undergone an abortion procedure experience 81 per cent increased risks of mental health problems, including severe anxiety, clinical depression and a higher propensity for substance abuse.

He disclosed that life is sacred, adding that the unborn child is God’s creation. He explained thatGod has assignedspecific purpose and destiny to any unborn child, stressing that the Catholic Church’s view on abortion is that, life is not a commodity or something that one can easily buy.

“Sometimes, we think and conclude that we can always have another child if we take out the unborn one. It is not as easy as it sounds. The unborn child is God’s creation and a gift from God,” Owoh said.

He called on parents to teach their children the sanctity of life andalways todemonstrate love to them.

He said: “Tell your children daily that there is nothing you can do that will make you their parents to stop loving them. This is to make themfeel loved and behave well. If they know that your love is unconditional, they will run to you whenever they have any problem.”

He, as well, charged the students to concentrate on their studies and also to wait until they are married to enjoy sex.”

In his admonition, the Grand Knight (GK) of Ajao Sub-council, and Coordinating GK, Brother Emmanuel Dumuje, called on Christians to exhibitChristians virtue in the secret and in public, lamenting that some parents are careless and do not take proper care of their children.

He charged the students not to be angry with their parents.

No matter the situation, assuring them that they will be great if they are studious and diligent.
