The Founder of Christ Church of Grace, Ajangbadi, Lagos, Prophet Cornelius Adetunbi, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a three-day fasting and prayer for Nigerians.

He said the three-day event must be accompanied by a public holiday for the people to seek God’s face over senseless killings and other problems facing the country.

The prophet also counselled Nigerians to return to God with genuine repentance, saying there should be no discrimination against any religious organisation or ethnic groups in the country.

The cleric, who made this call at the just concluded Prayer Retreat organised by the church in Ajangbadi, explained that God revealed to him that Nigerians should read the book of Jonah 3:1 to the end.

“On the first day, it should be a prayer of forgiveness, taken from Psalm 51 to the end. Second day should be prayer for God to return the country’s glory, as He did for Israelites and they should read Psalm 126:1 to the end. The third day should be prayer of thanksgiving and the reading should be taken from Psalm 136:1 to the end,” he said.

For the country to make progress, he advised the leaders to humble themselves and fear the Lord.
