GKS president warns treasury looters of untimely death

The President of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), the Church of the Living God, Brother Godwin Ifeacho has warned the ruling elite in various parts of the world of the spiritual consequences of mindless looting of their countries’ resources.

He explained that the unconscionable greed of those in authority was responsible for the high level of poverty in the world today, as a result of which millions live from hand to mouth and in debt most of their lives, without any hope of seeing better conditions in the near future.

Ifeacho disclosed this while addressing members during the Freedom Day Divine Services, held on separate dates recently at the National Hockey Pitch Hall in Accra, Ghana and GKS Service Hall back Road Junction, Oldest Congo Town in Monrovia, Liberia. Citing Bible passages from Hosea and Job, he said those who are impoverishing their people would not have peace and risk dying untimely.

The President, who was represented by the church’s Publicity Secretary, Brother Benedict Hart at the yearly event to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, said those responsible for the social and economic conditions of the people would certainly render account to God, in as much as they have no regard for the people’s well- being.

Speaking on the theme: “The Grace of God,” the President noted: “For the fact that there is so much stealing of public money, workers are not paid living wages and pensions, while the common people are not able to gain access to good medical care, and decent housing and educational facilities.” He charged those guilty of the sinful acts to desist and repent, as evildoers should know ‘that they are alive not because God is not seeing them or is incapable of punishing them, but because of His grace, as He is giving every sinner enough chance to receive warning and turn to righteousness.”

He enjoined people to be patient towards those who are of contrary disposition/beliefs, stressing that all should strive to know the truth and follow it. Besides cultural dances, special renditions by the choir and choral group performances, the ministers also showed from Bible chronology that Christ was born in the month of October.
