Newly ordained priests urged to be strong in God’s work

The Guest Preacher and Diocesan Bishop of Northern Izon, Bayelsa State, Rt. Revd. Funkuro Amgbare has charged the newly ordained priests to be strong in God’s work. He advised them to always study the Bible and prayerfully propagate the gospel so as to win more souls for Christ.

The Guest Preacher and Diocesan Bishop of Northern Izon, Bayelsa State, Rt. Revd. Funkuro Amgbare has charged the newly ordained priests to be strong in God’s work. He advised them to always study the Bible and prayerfully propagate the gospel so as to win more souls for Christ.

At a Special Service for Diaconate and Priesthood Ordination, Collation of Archdeacons and Installation of Canons at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Okrika, the Guest Preacher encouraged them to work in synergy with their Bishop and remain diligent in their various stations.

Expressing gratitude to God for their elevation, the cleric reminded them of the need to be equipped in order to face the challenges of life. He also urged the wives of the new Archdeacons, Canons, and Priests to support their husbands and be submissive to them.

The Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Revd. Tubokosemie Abere (JP) performed the ordination of the new Archdeacons: Ven. Inumafikabo Davids; Ven. Godwin Gaius-Hart; Ven. (Dr) Mina Aprioku; Ven. (Dr) Bennett Tamunobelema; Ven. Collins Ekene; Ven. Ibisabo Inichinbia and Ven. Obikabo Brown. Those installed are Revd. Canon Otonye Bulopakaye; Revd. Canon Ibitombo Okari; Revd. Canon Orango Sunday (KSC); Revd. Canon Kenneth Odikibo; Revd. Canon (Dr) Iyeneomi Daka and Revd. Canon Emmanuel Oroyi. The Revd. Christian Hezekiah was ordained Priest, while ordinand Adokiye Frank, became a Deacon of the Anglican Church.

The new Archdeacons, Venerable Bennett Tamunobelema and Venerable Obikabo N. Brown and Canons, Revd Canon Ibitombo Okari and Revd Canon Iyeneomi Daka, expressed gratitude to God and thanked the Bishop, Diocese of Okrika for finding them worthy, as they promised not to disappoint the church.

The ceremony was witnessed by family, friends, and guests from within and outside the Diocese.
