Matt. 24: 43-44, “But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore, be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

Beloved, if we believe the promises made by God shall come to pass in our lives, because it is promised by God, so also we should believe that rapture as proclaimed by God shall come and in the hour we think not because God Almighty has said it. We must prepare for this great event for nobody will make rapture without preparation. Rapture takes us to heaven, which is a holy place, and it has holy company and holy enjoyments. Therefore, we must be qualified for it, before we can be admitted into it. We must never expect to be admitted into it if we do not meet the requirement of holiness. The demand for rapture preparation is purging our hearts from sin and particularly from the inclination to the things of this world. This is because whatsoever we are giving attention to in this world will never follow us to heaven. We brought nothing into this world; and thus whatever we have acquired will perish with our flesh in this world. So, there is need to ensure our soul is not mortgaged for the things of this world for we know not when the hour shall be. Our mind should be in that state, which constitutes expectation; that is, a belief that it will occur, and a condition of mind in which we would not be taken by surprise should it happen at any moment.

1Cor. 6:13 says, “Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.”
The body is not for evil or fornication but for the Lord and the Lord is for the body, that is, for the good and salvation of the body. As our bodies are for the Lord’s service as well as our souls, so the Lord is for the good of our bodies as well as our souls, and therefore, our bodies ought to be employed in His glory for everything because this is the only sure way to make rapture. Take note, what the Scripture says is ‘God will destroy both the meat and the body.’ So, all that you spend your time pursuing, will be destroyed because flesh and blood cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

2Pet. 3:10-12 states, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?”

All these things you are seeing in this world whether cars, buildings or roads shall one day be melt with fervent heat; it shall be dissolved and destroyed. So, all these things deceiving our eyes including our body are vanity, they are not meant to be forever. All the things people give attention to and have no time for God shall be melt with fire. The certainty that this world will be dissolved by fire should convince all Christians of the necessity of endeavouring to live a life of purity and waiting for rapture. Let’s look forward to that day of rapture as our period of redemption, and a day to meet our Saviour.
