There is money in the bush, says cardinal Obembe
The Archbishop of El-Shaddai Bible Churches, Worldwide, Cardinal Olarenwaju Obembe, has urged Christians to focus on agriculture as a means to overcome the present economic situation in the country. Speaking recently, at the church’s 2016 Convention held at Omole branch of the church, tagged: The Almighty God, the former PFN Chairman in Lagos State said there is a lot of money yet to be made from the agricultural sector.
“Christians should go into agriculture in this recession, Nigeria is blessed with very good soil so much so that some crops even grow on their own. Growing up, I was told that the money is in the bush. If you go to the bush, you would make money,” he said.
On the convention, Obembe said: “We are using this occasion to strengthen our members in this trying time. We are living in difficult times and it is when there is a casting down that the church of God can thrive. In every Generation in the Bible, there was economic depression, but God showed up for them.
God usually reveals Himself in the period of our despair. So, at this time, we need to empower our people with the knowledge and revelation of God’s existence because human knowledge is not enough in this time of crisis,” he said.
The Senior Pastor of TCC Lagos, Rev. Samuel Olubiyo, who was a guest speaker, said this recession is for Christians, who have a covenant with God and are obedient to His commands, as that was the way to unlock blessings.
