Time to stand and not to fall

Stand symbolises a victor, victory, success, and an overcomer. As Christians, we are to stand erect, upright, righteous in faith, in power of God, as sons of God, and as heirs of God’s awesome grace and power.

Who then shall stand?
Who are the people that can stand in these trying times? The book of psalm tells us:
Psalm 24:3-6
[3] Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place?
[4] He that hath clean hands, and a pure Heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
[5] He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of His salvation.
[6] This is the generation of them that seek him; that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

How to stand
The scriptures full expatiate on how we are to stand in times of troubles and calamities.
Ephesians 6:11-18
[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God; that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
[14] Stand therefore, having your loins gird about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the Helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
[18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
1 Kings 18:15
[15] And Elijah said, As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand; I will surely shew myself unto him to day.

Humble yourself before the mighty Hands of God
James 5:6-7
[6] Ye have condemned and killed the just; and He doth not resist you.
[7] Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until He receive the early and latter rain.
To avert further catastrophe, let the priest of God weep between the porch and the altar.
Joel 2:17-19
[17] Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, where is their God?
[18] Then will the Lord be jealous for His land, and pity His people.
[19] Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto His people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the Heathen:

But how and what made us to fall and not standing?
These are the things we fell from as Christians and as a people:
• We fell from uprightness,
• We fell from righteousness,
• We all people, judiciary, legislature, executive fell from the truth,
• We fell from the love of God,
• We fell loving self with God’s love,
• We fell from loving our neighbours as ourselves,
• We fell from faith-living,
• We fell from holiness,
• We fell from the glory of God,
• We fell from Eternal life,
• We fell from Godliness,
• We fell from the fear of God,
• We fell from seeking the face of God,
• We fell from the peace of God and
• We fell from light into darkness

Isaiah 59:8-9
[8] The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
[9] Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
Romans 3:17
[17] And the way of peace have they not known:
Isaiah 45:2
[2] I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
Only the Almighty God, the Eternal God, the Creator of the heaven and the earth and the fullness thereof, can keep us from falling.
Jude 1:24-25
[24] Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
[25] To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
