It is wisdom to know that whatever we do, we do it from a place of reverence for God. Wisdom lies in knowing that our actions should come from a place of reverence for God. The Bible says in Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding,” (NKJV). The fear of God signifies deep reverence, honour, and a desire to live according to His will, rather than by our fleshly desires. It is wisdom to do whatever you do from a place of desire to please God. The fear of God and not the dread for God is the beginning of wisdom. Honour for God and His word is the beginning of wisdom. The word of God is God’s wisdom manual. If you live the Bible, you are living right. The Bible is the manifold wisdom of God and it contains all the wisdom that life will ever require (Acts 5:20). The fear of God is the source of divine wisdom. The Bible says that divine wisdom is the principal thing, so, get wisdom. Divine wisdom is the custodian of ever winning life. Wisdom is our access to taking delivery of our redemptive benefits in Christ. Wisdom is the way out of what God Has ordained for us.
It is wisdom that before you speak or take a decision that you take your time to think about what you want to do or say. Always pause to reflect on the things you are about to say or do rather than acting hastily. Proverbs 16:23 says that wise people think before they speak. Wisdom puts a control on your lips and actions. Ecclesiastes 10:12 says: “The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious, but the lips of a fool consume him.” Many people have put themselves in trouble because of their uncontrolled lips. It is wisdom not to speak when you are angry. In your anger, you forget the good things and help that someone has given to you. Anger makes you to suddenly forget all the good things that a person that offended you have done and you also forget that you too offend others. We should not be in a hurry to revenge. It is very important that we are not rash with our decision.
It is wisdom to walk the path that has been tested and tried. It is important that we are in group of people that can help us. By surrounding yourself with successful, positive, and growth-oriented individuals, you will become better. Take a look at the company you keep. That’s what you’re going to be like in a few years. Hang around people who make you better.
If you want to be a successful businessman, leave the company of drunks. Success breeds success, so, be picky about who you spend time with. If you want to be wealthy, make friends with those who have made it in life. The Bible says in Proverbs 13:20: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” Sitting under people who have gone the way that you want to go gives you wisdom and knowledge. We have heard the saying, “birds of a feather flock together.” When you surround yourself with smart people, you’ll expand your knowledge, you’ll have a support community that will push you to become a better version of yourself, and you’ll become a better-rounded person. Success breeds more success. Proverbs 27:17, states: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another,” (NIV).
