Joshua Igbugburu celebrates 80th birthday and 58th years on the throne
The 80th birthday and 58th anniversary on the throne of King WS Joshua Igbugburu the 10th Ibenanaowei of Bomo Kingdom in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, held in Yenagoa, the Capital of Bayelsa State on Wednesday.
The colourful ceremony, which held at the Dr. Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, attracted dignitaries from all walks of life. Emeritus Professor and erudite scholar Ebiegberi Alagoa- Kalajo delivered the incisive and highly informative lecture on the Role of Traditional Rulers in Ensuring Peace and Development in Africa.
The erudite scholar anchored his presentation on the need to strengthen the traditional Institution to enable it deliver on its core mandate of maintaining peace, economic prosperity and security in their various kingdoms.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan spoke along similar line and how his efforts to strengthen the institution through his conceptualization of an Executive Bill were still birthed.
All the speakers including the Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers King Dandyson Jaja of Opobo congratulated the celebrant, King Joshua Igbugburu, on his achievements and wished him many more years ahead.
His Royal Majesty Okpoitari Diongoli said, “it is his desire and prayer to also live long to serve his people beyond the threshold of 120 years consistent in line with the promise of the Lord.
“I celebrate King Joshua Igbugburu so that celebration shall not cease for me and my household as well as Opokuma Kingdom.”
