Landmark Varsity students win CODET Prizes, qualify for national competition
Seven Landmark University students, Omu-Aran, Kwara State have emerged first, second and third positions respectively at the 1st Zonal Engineering Students’ Competition organised by the Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology of Nigerian Universities (CODET).
The competition, which was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Abuja on June 2, 2016, featured four universities namely,
University of Ilorin; Federal University of Technology, Minna; University of Abuja and Landmark University, Omu-Aran.
The motive of the competition, according to organisers is to showcase and reward outstanding projects embarked upon by final year students of engineering and technology in Nigerian Universities and also to encourage best practices in the field towards.
The first Prize went to Okonkwo Clinton and Olumhense Gift of agricultural and bio-systems Engineering Department for the production and testing of a Multi Crop Grain Cleaner, supervised by Dr. Abiodun Okunlola.
The second prize went to Chukwudebelu O. Lydia, Ezihe Ugonna H. and Olabode Ajibola of Civil Engineering Department for the development of a Light-weight Improved Double Roman Alternative Roofing Tiles (IDRT) using waste paper and additive, supervised by Prof. C. Adegoke and Engr. A.E. Modupe.
While third prize went to Bajulaye Victor and Paul Joan of Electrical and Information Engineering Department for the production and testing of a Fuseless Generator, supervised by Prof. A.M.O. Obiazi.
