Lasebikan tasks clergy, laity on prayers
His Grace, the former Archbishop of Ondo Ecclesiastical Province and the Dean Emeritus of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Commission), the Most Reverend George L. Lasebikan last week charged the clergy and laity to pray for the country and for themselves.
He made this call at the funeral sermon held at the All Saints Church, Ogbonkowo, Ondo State, for the late Very Reverend Okunade Modupe, the former Provost and Provost Emeritus Ecclesiastical Plenipotentiary of St. James Cathedral, Oke-Aluko, Ondo Diocese, who passed on at the age of 80.
Picking his text from I Samuel1: 27, the former Archbishop noted that the late cleric worked conscientiously and faithfully in his episcopal callings and also gave his children quality education.
He admonished the clergy and laity to build their faith to avert calamities on their journey on earth.
The six Bishops that graced the event are: The Most Reverend G. A. Akinbiyi; retired Arch Bishop of Ondo Province, The Right Reverend J. O. K. Olowokure; The Right Reverend A. O. Akinlalu; The Right Reverend N. O. Fagbemi; The Right Reverend Bola Dahunsi; and The Right Reverend Stephen Adeniran Oni.
