Switching on the generational light – Part 2
See what followed after the generation of Joshua: Judges 2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim: Judges 2:20-21 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this person hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice; I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves.
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord.
This is what happens when fathers drop the ball and fail to pass on the light. The light goes off.
Today, we have a crisis in our hands, and many haven’t realised it. For years, we have focused on the girl-child and striven to bring the best out of them, but we’ve neglected the boy-child on the altar of indulgence and all kinds of permissiveness and today… How many of our sons have a solid knowledge of the God of our fathers? Even the God that we serve, how strong are our sons in the faith we profess?
Do we leave our sons behind in Egypt, while we go on to Canaan to serve The Lord? Don’t we have in our hands today a generation “… which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel? This was where Israel’s generational light was switched off! And indeed, the light is off in many homes today and things have gone south!
But glory be to the God of Israel, Who will never forsake His people. This terrible situation was where Israel found itself that it became a ping-pong ball in the hands of various oppressors and oppressive nations, including the Medianites. The Bible in Judges recorded the repercussion of the generational failure of Israel. At a point in time, Deborah stepped in and did her bit, yet Israel didn’t see the light.
Thank God for mothers… But there’s so much that can be achieved, where fathers are absent! Some fathers may be alive and yet not there! But one day, after the long treacherous walk through the dark alley God decided to switch on the light and he reached out to the switch (knob) of one man’s mind:
“And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour….”
I’m happy to announce to you that God is set to reach out to the knob of some man’s mind this season. You know what? It may not be every man that is guilty of not passing the light on, but every man in this generation has become a victim of collective responsibility!
“And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? And where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? But now, the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”
And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
This message begins with that man to whom the Lord is reaching out right now to switch on his light of awareness;
– of the need to give yourself more unto God
– of the need to draw your family closer to God
– of the need to serve the Lord with all your heart
– of the awareness that this generation has been waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God……
You thought God has forsaken you?
You thought God has given up on you?
But listen to me thou mighty man of Valour… The Lord is with you! Therefore, Arise now and shine, for your light has come and the glory of God rises upon you!
Switch on the generational light in your home today!
