Text: Romans 14:8; Ezekiel 33:11
Key Verse: Ecclesiastes 7:2, “It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.” (KJV)

Death is the chief end of all flesh. Death is the end of all men on this side of Heaven. It is the flesh that dies but the spirit does not die and God will hold your spirit accountable for all you have been doing and all that you will do. After a man dies, he faces the judgment of God. Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this, the judgment.” God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4).

God does not take pleasure in the death of a sinner rather He is pleased when a sinner turns from his wicked ways unto righteousness and holy living (Ezekiel 18:23). The death of a righteous man pleases God and because of the way God looks at it, the death of a Christian is called sleep. When a righteous man dies, he is said to be sleeping. The Bible said in Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His godly ones.” God will not delight in your death, if you die a sinner. The Bible said in Psalm 147:11, “The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.”

After God made man, man entered into wickedness and evil. Man preferred to listen to the devil than to listen to God; man preferred to go the way of the devil than to surrender to God and that brought about all the problems we have on earth today but God has a way out. The Bible said in John 3:16, for God so loved the world (the world of sinners, the world of immoral people, the world of ungodliness and the world of all types of abominations), that whosoever believe in Jesus, will not perish but have everlasting life.

The next item in God’s programme for the whole world is the coming of Christ. The Bible calls it the blessed hope of the believers in Titus 2:13-14. When Jesus comes, He will come along with all the children of God that have gone on ahead of us; people who gave their lives to Christ; people who lived Christ-centered life; people who allowed the holy spirit to be in control of their lives; people who had respect for the word of God; people who honored God while they were alive on earth and people who surrendered their lives completely to God. It is not just Assemblies of God people but other people from different denomination backgrounds who lived for God and so lived their lives under the Holy Spirit as people who are conscious that they will give account to God.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. There is no other name given among men whereby we will be saved. You need to make your choice for Jesus. I made a choice for Jesus personally, intelligently, voluntarily and happily. I joyfully invited Him into my life and determined I shall remain under this new master because I have seen the other side. Having seen the other side, I know the difference and will not go back to Satan side. This is where I will live and will die so that I will have the blessed hope and be with Christ all through eternity.
