There is still hope – You must rejoice!

Fr. John Damian playing with his happy orphan boy

Dear Reader, permit me to start with one of my favourite songs, “His hands are not short that He cannot reach to you. His eyes are never blind that He cannot see your tears. His ears are not deaf that He cannot hear your cry. Your tomorrow must greater than today. – No matter what I face, No matter what I see, No matter what comes my way, No matter how I cry. One thing I know that is definite in my heart. My tomorrow must be greater than today! My tomorrow must be greater than today.

Child of God, I may not know what you are passing through. I may not know how indebted you are. I may not know the number of enemies that are surrounding you. I may not even know how long you have been having sleepless nights. But I can assure you, there is still hope for you. Those who were laughing at you will soon laugh with you. All those who were looking down on you will start looking up to you. Your enemies may not recognise you again. The Lord, said I should announce to you that your story is about to change. Your period of suffering is over! You shall celebrate and you shall be celebrated.

In today’s first reading from Isaiah 66:10-14, the Lord God spoke, saying, “Rejoice with Jerusalem, And be glad with her, all you who love her; Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn for her; 11 That you may feed and be satisfied With the consolation of her bosom, That you may drink deeply and be delighted With the abundance of her glory.”

Child of God, do you know that this message is for you? Do you know that your period of mourning is over? Do you know that the Lord has come to console you? Do you know that the people around you and even your nation is about to rejoice because of your success. Your success is about to bring glory to God’s name!

The LORD God declares, “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, And the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Then you shall feed; On her sides shall you be carried, And be dandled on her knees. 13 As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” You shall be comforted in your own nation!

Child of God, as long as you are connected with the Most High God, no more sorrow for you – you shall be comforted. Our Lord Jesus Christ declares in John 16:20 “Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.” This will be your portion in Jesus name – Amen! Your sorrows will turn into gladness.

In today’s gospel from Luke 10:17 the seventy disciples returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” Child of God, your mission will not end in sorrows. You must surely testify. You are coming home with joy!
The demons will not just bow down before you; for your sake, they will all be destroyed.

Finally, the Lord God declares through the prophet Isaiah, “When you see this, your heart shall rejoice, And your bones shall flourish like grass; The hand of the LORD shall be known to His servants, And His indignation to His enemies.” Child of God, with this, your case is settled. As the Lord declares, your heart will surely rejoice. You will succeed. You shall flourish like the grass. And it shall be well with you in Jesus name – Amen!
