Telling African stories that exposes societal ills and passes positive messages is very crucial to Oluyinka Davids, a US-based Nigerian filmmaker and cinematographer, who has been making great films and music videos for many years. This time, Davids is about to premiere his new reality series ‘Prim and Proper’, on July 1, 2022 on MoodBox TV.
According to Davids, the series is about the reality of living in America from an immigrant point of view. Especially Nigerians, everybody wants to ‘Japa’ (leave the country) but are they really ready for the hurdles?

The young director, who is the creative head, iFocus Pictures, believes in telling African stories that informs and enlightens viewers through his work, further said that It’s an online reality series.
He said: “We are premiering the Pilot Episode on July 1 on YouTube (MoodBox TV)”.
Elaborating on the series, Davids said: “There are two main characters; Yemi Balz and Nkem Mbamalu. Yemi is the guy extroverted prim and proper chic; has a good grasp of the Nigerian culture, English speaking, yet very fluent in yoruba and pidgin slangs, works with the US army but has dreams to become a TV show host.
“Nkem is the introverted prim and proper best friend kinda babe to Yemi. She’s an IT professional, extremely supportive of Yemi’s dreams and aspirations in life, kind hearted, considerate to a fault such that she gets screwed for wanting to help others too much. Yemi of course is the voice of reason/Shine ya eye.
“Segun Ajayi is Yemi’s friend and Edo Charles is Nkem’s friend.
“The expository series which is created, produced and directed by Oluyinka Davids (myself) will be informative, enlightening and full of lessons,” he assured.
