What is your spiritual weight – Part 4?

Text: Daniel 5:1-31

Key Verse: Daniel 5:26-28, “This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. 27: Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28: Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.” (KJV)

GOD has a spiritual scale on which He weighs us all. I am on a scale; you are on a scale and everyone is on a scale. What is your spiritual weight on God’s scale? If you are going about in immorality, you will weigh nothing and if you are going about as a liar, hypocrite and deceiver, you will weigh nothing.

If you walk about in ungodliness, godlessness, worldliness, pounding to the flesh all the time and moving about in your pride and arrogance, you will weigh nothing. You need to come to Jesus; receive Him as the Lord and Saviour of your life. You need to confess your sins; you need to plead before Him and you need to open yourself to the Lord, so that, He will transform you into the man or woman He wants you to be and then, you will start gaining spiritual weight.

Don’t be lost in all the sinfulness of the world; worldly deceit and temporariness of the world system. Don’t be lost in your worldly existence and forget to think about where you will spend your eternity whether in Heaven or Hell. Just imagine it, you weigh nothing before God. Why? Because you don’t have Jesus in your life! The Bible says there is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved except the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12).

It is only the name of Jesus; a name at the mention of it every kneel must bow. Things in Heaven above, things on the earth beneath and things in the waters under the earth, they bow at the mention of the name of Jesus (Philippians 2:10). A song says: “At the name of Jesus Christ, every knee must bow.” The Bible also says that every tongue must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

You may be a king, you may be a ruler, you may be whatever you are, people will gather around you in thousands and sing your praise and say you are a great and mighty man.

Aside from all these praises, what is your spiritual weight? You may be king of the industry, king in the military, king in the police force, king in the church, king in the village, a traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty and even a triple chief, but what is your spiritual weight? Belshazzar was an emperor of the Babylon Empire, but he weighed nothing spiritually. He did what pleased him and commanded everything around him, had tremendous power and authority and had worldwide influence, but weighed nothing spiritually.

If you want your weight to rise spiritually, you have to accept Jesus Christ; He is the way. Jesus Christ is the truth and life. Jesus Christ is the Saviour and your way out.

Remember, eternity is beckoning, one of these days, you will pass away from here and you will surely stand before God in judgment.

Please answer me today, what is your spiritual weight on God’s scale and balances? I tell you once again if you don’t have Jesus Christ in your life, you weigh absolutely nothing, irrespective of your status or roles in the world.

Don’t get it wrong, come over to Jesus Christ’s side today, that is the only way forward; that is the only way out, that is the only meaningful way to make you have spiritual weight before God.
