Less than a week after a three-storey building that claimed 10 lives collapsed in Ebute Metta area of Lagos, another two-storey building on Chris Igadi Street, off Ago Palace Way, yesterday, caved in.
The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) has blamed the recent building collapses in the country on unethical practices by stakeholders in the built environment.

No fewer than eight persons narrowly escaped death yesterday when an uncompleted two-story building collapsed at Aboh-Ogwashi-Uku. Occupants of the building included a security man and his family, alongside five other persons, who are workers of the contractor handling the project.

A building under construction yesterday collapsed in the densely populated area of Ajegunle, Lagos State, leaving several persons injured. Although no life was lost, one of the workers escaped death by the whiskers as residents rescued him immediately the incident occurred.
