The tragedy of the train attack by kidnappers in the Igueben Railway station in Edo State notwithstanding, the police and other law enforcement agencies that rescued the victims deserve some commendation.

The Edo Government has confirmed the arrest of two village chiefs in connection with the Jan. 7 train attack which resulted in the kidnap of 20 passengers at the Igueben train station.

The Commissioner for Communication in Edo State, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, says intelligence report has indicated that 20 persons were kidnapped at the Igueben Train Station in Edo State and not 32 as reported.

Assistant Commander General of Nigerian Hunters and Forestry Security Service (NHFSS) in charge of Technical Services, Amb. Johnny Chukwudi Metchie has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently sign the Hunters and Forestry Security Service Bill into law, saying it is a sure way of deterring terrorists and other criminal elements from using the forests to commit atrocities against the people of Nigeria.
