Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo on Friday described the nation’s Inland Waterways as cash cows long overdue for harnessing.
This comes as Nigeria recorded a total foreign trade of N12.84 trillion in the second quarter of 2022, whereas the inland waterway, as a mode of transportation, contributing not a dime to the trade.

The Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has said it intends to increase monitoring activities on the inland waterways in order to carryout regulatory functions aimed at developing the inland waterways system.
