The government had upgraded the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta to Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology (MAUSTECH) and established a new Polytechnic in Ipokia in Ipokia council of the state.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested seven National Diploma (ND) students of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State for alleged conspiracy, obtaining money by trick (OBT) and possession of forged documents.
