‘Over 4.5m women, babies die yearly during pregnancy, childbirth’
More than 4.5 million women and babies die every year during pregnancy, childbirth or the first week after birth, a new United Nations study has shown. This figure, equivalent to one death happening every seven seconds - is mostly from preventable or treatable causes.
