The Creatives Hub, an initiative of The Nest Innovation and Technology Park, has organised a three-day digital art and artificial intelligence (AI) workshop, where over 30 self-taught users and interested individuals, AI and gaming sectors were in attendance.

This workshop, held in partnership with Africacomicade and sponsored by Newcomma, demonstrated the initiative’s commitment to fostering innovation, diversity, and entrepreneurialism in the creative industry.

Founder of Africacomicade, Michael Oscar, said: “This workshop aims to build a community of players in the digital art field, contribute to their progression, and have them confidently carry out projects through skill development and by providing a creative outlet.”

The three-day workshop took the participants through an introductory course in digital art and AI, AR and XR, and game development. Led by industry experts including Hammed Arowosegbe, founder of Swift XR, and Uchenna Okiya, a sought-after digital artist, the participants were equipped with tools and resources that enabled them to fast-track their creative process.

Program Lead of The Creatives Hub, Erinola Akinfoyewa, said: “By bringing together self-taught users and interested individuals from different sectors, we were able to create a dynamic learning environment where everyone had something unique to contribute.”

At the workshop, each participant was able to carry out AI and AR projects, learn how to build their games, and network with other participants.

“Newcomma is thrilled to sponsor this event and support the creative economy of Nigeria. We believe in the importance of fostering creative talent and providing growth opportunities,” said Natalie from Newcomma.
