A new player has stepped into Nigeria’s booming e-commerce space, 2Clicks, has officially launched with free product listings, premium visibility tools and advanced identity verification to boost trust in online transactions.

Country Manager of the digital marketplace, Bakare Olaoluwa, at a briefing in Lagos, said the platform was built to solve long-standing challenges for both buyers and sellers.

“Our philosophy is simple: make online selling accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a retailer, a student entrepreneur, or just someone reselling items, you can list unlimited products at no cost,” he explained.

“Our philosophy is to significantly improve the way Nigerians buy and sell online. Anyone can join our marketplace and list as many products as they want for free, whether they are a professional retailer, a university student running a small business or someone simply looking to sell an item they no longer need,” he said.

Olaoluwa said the company was not only targeting established merchants but also informal businesses that make up a significant portion of Nigeria’s economy.

He explained that sellers who require greater exposure can subscribe to premium packages that promote their products in search results, while those who choose not to subscribe can continue using the platform without losing their online stores.

According to him, the approach differs from subscription models adopted by some existing marketplaces, which he claimed could limit sellers’ flexibility.

He listed the key features to include free unlimited listings, where sellers can showcase as many products as they want without subscription fees.

There are also the Premium Seller Tools, which offer optional packages that give merchants priority placement in search results for greater exposure.

It also offers AI-Powered Discovery. It is a personalised recommendation and enhanced search functions help buyers find relevant products faster.

Since its launch just two months ago, 2Clicks has already recorded 100,000+ downloads and over 150,000 product listings. Olaoluwa noted that the company prioritised onboarding sellers first to ensure buyers would find a wide range of inventory.

“We are growing by thousands of users daily, and our goal is to become Nigeria’s largest online marketplace,” he said.

Unlike subscription-driven competitors, 2Clicks connects buyers directly with sellers, allowing location-based searches to simplify logistics. Payments are primarily direct, with the option for buyers to inspect goods before purchase.

The company aims to build a marketplace where virtually every legitimate product category can be traded, leveraging technology to deliver trust, convenience, and affordability for Nigerian consumers and businesses.
