A new app, ShawnX App, has been introduced into Nigeria’s digital finance sector.
A statement by Shawn Exchange, the parent company, explained that ShawnX App is a next-generation cryptocurrency and digital payments platform developed to be a leading digital asset company.
The Chief Executive Officer, Shawn Exchange, Ajayi Oluwadamilare, disclosed this during the unveiling of the App.
According to him, the launch highlights Shawn Exchange’s determination to make digital financial services more accessible to everyone while reinforcing its position as one of the leading innovators in Africa’s rapidly expanding fintech and cryptocurrency ecosystem.
“Designed as an all-in-one financial platform, the ShawnX App, which is now available on the App Store and Google Play Store, enables users to seamlessly buy and sell cryptocurrencies with naira, convert naira into digital assets, trade gift cards for instant cash, and purchase airtime and data through a single application.
“The platform launch became pertinent as it seeks to eliminate many of the barriers associated with digital transactions by offering speed, convenience, and security to both individual users and businesses operating in an increasingly digital economy,” Ajayi stated.
He described the application as more than a cryptocurrency exchange, saying the platform represents the company’s long-term commitment to building an inclusive financial ecosystem where digital assets and traditional currencies coexist effortlessly.
According to him, ShawnX was created to provide Nigerians with a seamless and secure gateway between cryptocurrency and naira while laying the technological foundation for efficient cross-border payments across Africa.
“Our vision is to create a seamless, secure and accessible platform that empowers individuals and businesses to move seamlessly between cryptocurrencies and the naira, also empowering cross-border payments,” Ajayi said.
He disclosed that the company’s immediate objective is to build a community of more than 100,000 active users in Nigeria through exceptional service delivery before extending its footprint across the African continent. The broader vision, he noted, is to facilitate affordable, reliable and instant financial transactions that connect businesses, entrepreneurs and families beyond national borders.
Ajayi explained that the decision to strengthen the company’s investment in digital financial services was driven by the enormous opportunities within the global cryptocurrency market. Describing the sector as one of the world’s largest emerging financial sectors, he noted that Nigeria continues to rank among Africa’s leading markets for Bitcoin transactions, making the country well positioned for digital asset innovation.
