Cyber Security expert, Emmanuel Olorunnisola, has been named among the finalists for the 2026 Cyber Security Leader of the Year, a flagship category of the globally recognised Cyber Security Awards.
Olorunnisola, Group IT Security Operations Manager at Mott MacDonald Ltd, is one of nine finalists selected from a highly competitive international cybersecurity field.
The 2026 awards attracted entries from more than 50 countries, underscoring the recognition’s scale and prestige.
“The calibre of entries this year has been extraordinary,” the Cyber Security Awards team said. “We are excited to celebrate the heroes and innovators who keep our global digital infrastructure safe.”
The Cyber Security Leader of the Year category honours individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, measurable impact and a sustained contribution to the advancement of the cybersecurity profession. It recognises those shaping the future of the industry through innovation, strategic vision and a commitment to developing others.
Judges will assess finalists across four key areas, namely, leadership, with a focus on the ability to inspire teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contribution to the cybersecurity industry is also central, highlighting thought leadership, collaboration and active participation in initiatives that drive progress.
Achievement forms another pillar of the criteria, with judges considering tangible milestones such as awards, publications and speaking engagements. Developing others is equally critical, rewarding those who invest in mentorship, training programmes and the professional growth of emerging talent.
Olorunnisola’s shortlisting reflects his growing influence as a strategist in cyber resilience, Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Strategy. His work focuses on helping enterprises navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape while preparing for the next wave of technological disruption.
The Cyber Security Awards are widely regarded as one of the leading global platforms for recognising excellence in the field. With a digital reach of more than 1.6 million professionals worldwide and an international panel of judges, the awards celebrate innovation, leadership and collaboration across the sector.
Winners receive a range of benefits, including induction into the Hall of Fame, global media exposure, and invitations to major cybersecurity conferences in key international locations. The programme has also expanded its accessibility, with winners announced online while maintaining opportunities for in-person recognition at partner events worldwide.
The winners will be revealed on 27 April 2026, when the global cybersecurity community will turn its attention to those setting the benchmark for leadership and innovation in the industry.
