Pioneer broadband service provider, Spectranet Limited, is expanding its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) infrastructure across the country.
The initiative marks a major milestone in the company’s ongoing business repositioning as it celebrates 15 years of operations, combining its market-leading 4G LTE wireless network with high-performance Spectranet Home Fibre to deliver a multi-technology broadband ecosystem for residential and enterprise clients.
Spectranet’s FTTH architecture delivers end-to-end optical fibre directly to premises, offering highly scalable bandwidth speeds.
Designed to support data-intensive applications, including streaming, low-latency gaming, remote work, and multi-device IoT environments, the service is currently available across selected high-density estates and commercial corridors in Lagos and Abuja, with network expansion actively underway.
Commenting on the strategic direction, Chief Operating Officer of Spectranet Limited, Sumit Gambhir, emphasised the changing dynamics of consumer internet consumption: “The home is no longer simply a place where people browse the web. It has evolved into a central hub for remote work, digital learning, e-commerce, and high-definition entertainment across multiple simultaneous devices. Our responsibility is to build the robust infrastructure required to power this digital lifestyle, and FTTH is central to that mission.”
Gambhir clarified that the FTTH deployment is an integral component of a broader infrastructure investment strategy, not a replacement for Spectranet’s existing wireless assets.
“We do not view connectivity through a single technological lens,” Gambhir noted. “Our focus is on delivering the optimal solution based on location and specific customer use cases. Wireless provides exceptional flexibility and reach, while fibre delivers high-capacity, scalable bandwidth where physical infrastructure is available.”
Spectranet’s fibre network currently spans over 300 major locations across Lagos and Abuja, with coverage expanding regularly. To ensure optimal service delivery, potential subscribers can verify coverage availability prior to installation.
The FTTH rollout is paired with ongoing network optimisation initiatives to improve stability, latency, and service uptime. Parallel enhancements to customer self-service portals, digital payment gateways, and support channels are also being deployed to streamline user experience.
“Modern consumers judge providers on quality of experience, consistency, and service delivery,” added Gambhir. “Consider a typical household: one person is hosting a video conference, another is attending an online class, and others are streaming or gaming simultaneously. Broadband demand has fundamentally transformed. As we celebrate 15 years of industry leadership, we are ensuring our network architecture is built for the next decade of digital convergence.”
Moving beyond its 15-year milestone, Spectranet continues to reinforce its portfolio across LTE, FTTH, and enterprise solutions to maintain its competitive position in West Africa’s telecommunications market.
Spectranet Limited is a leading Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Nigeria, dedicated to delivering fast, reliable, and affordable broadband solutions to residential and corporate clients.
