BARRING any unforeseen circumstances, the developer of Aswani Ultra Modern Market, Messrs. ASPEC-HFD-SAS Enterprises, has assured that the new market located within Isolo neighborhood in Isolo Local Government area of Lagos would be ready soon.
The market, a product of a joint venture between the developer and Isolo Local Government, will, upon completion, showcase 2,174 lock-up shops and stalls with business suites, banking facilities and warehouses.
Occupying a total of 12.3 hectares of land, the market, according to the developer would stand out and create more openings for business and investment in Isolo, Ajao Estate and Lagos State in general.
Already, it was learnt at the weekend that, while the first phase of the project, was sold out, interested occupiers, can apply for spaces in the second phase two, which is currently selling.
The Aswani Ultra-modern market is a collaboration whereby ASPEC-HFD-SAS is to develop the market on a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. Construction, it was gathered, has reached advanced stage as the phase one of the project, is scheduled to be delivered in December 2015.
While the Lagos State Government is the concessioner of the project, H.F.P Engineering (Nig) Limited is the contractor, as the First Bank of Nigeria Plc finances the multi-million naira market, which also offers mortgage facility for interested bulk buyers buying.
Unlike some markets in the state, Aswani Market would be fully fenced and serviced with constant electricity, water supply and treatment plant, 24-hour security service, central sewage and waste disposal systems, as well as ample parking space.
Speaking with The Guardian, a source, said the market was a profitable venture for investment and trading purposes, assuring potential applicants of fairness. “There is a process that needs to be followed when securing a shop or space. You are expected to get an application form, fill and submit it. Then you pay 30 per cent of the money, depending on the size of land.”
When The Guardian visited the project site last week, it was observed that the construction has already gone more than 50 per cent towards completion.
“The size of the land varies; 11sqm to 3.5m, 22sqm to 6.5m and 55sqm to 40m. You will also get a sub-list in any of your interest. A lot of shops are still available for interested buyers and you can get as many as you want,” the source added.
