Total appoints Nguer as divisional President

Total Nigeria Plc has appointed its former Chairman, Momar Nguer, as President, Marketing and Services, as well as member of the Executive Committee of Total.

Before now, Nguer was Senior Vice President of Total Marketing and Services. He was also the company’s President for Africa and Middle East, which he occupied since December 2011.

The company described Nguer as a dynamic and exceptional man who has contributed immensely to the sustainable growth and development of not only Total Nigeria, but the Nigerian downstream industry as a whole.

Since his appointment as Chairman of Total Nigeria in 2012, the company has achieved great milestones that reflect his passionate drive and determination to excel even in the midst of industry and environmental challenges.

Nguer began his career in 1982 in Hewlett Packard France’s Finance Department. He joined Total in 1984, serving in various downstream positions. He was named Vice President, Marketing at Total Sénégal in 1985 and appointed Vice President, Retail Network & Consumers of Total in Africa in 1991.
In 1995, Momar Nguer became Chief Executive Officer of the marketing affiliate Total Cameroun and was subsequently named Chief Executive Officer of the marketing affiliate Total Kenya in 1997.

In 2000, he was appointed Executive Vice President, Total East Africa & Indian Ocean in Total’s Refining & Marketing business.
From 2007 to 2011, he was Vice President, Aviation Fuel at Total Refining & Marketing.
