Commending the performances of the young gymnasts during the championship, the Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Deji Tinubu, described the future of the sport in the country as very bright.

The Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Sports said the Sports Commission would organise competitions in all sports associations in the state regularly with the aim of discovering hidden talents.

While appealing to corporate bodies to join hands in the efforts of the government to develop sports, he said the Lagos State Gymnastic Association would always enjoy the Commission’s support since the state has the best equipment compared with other states of the federation.

The competition hosted by Lagos, according to the Chairperson of the Association, Mrs. Adebamike Oloko, was a way of putting to test the modern gymnastic facilities acquired by the state.

She also commended the participating states for the skills demonstrated during the tournament, while assuring that plans are underway to expose the athletes to future national and international championships.
